摘要

This research paper discusses the implications of the AI algorithms (ChatGPT and DarkBERT) on cybercrime and digital privacy. As a fundamental component of the dignity of people, the right to privacy is an essential human right that is upheld by many systems, and it is predicated on the idea that a person’s autonomy is essential to their right to personal freedom and self-determination. Artificial intelligence has been used in various fields and has become able to simulate human intelligence. The researcher peruses to analyze the essence of AI, how it works, types of machine learning, and its challenges in cybercrime and digital privacy. The researcher aims to answer the question: is ChatGPT a friend that facilitates our lives or a foe due to its massive danger? The research clarifies ChatGPT’s dark side in violating users’ privacy and its impact on the commission of cybercrimes. Then the research sheds light on DarkBERT, an AI tool supposed to help detect threats on the dark web, but it is likely to turn into a nightmare that leads to the commission of many cybercrimes. The researcher seeks to demonstrate the international legal frameworks of AI algorithms implications on cybercrime and digital privacy under the GDPR’s main concepts and users’ rights, as well as the EU’s AI Act, whether they are familiar with the potential risks or not, then the researcher aims to present findings and suggest recommendations.
