Rheological Behavior of Topical Pharmaceutical Formulations
摘要
The rheological characteristic is one of the most crucial critical quality attributes of topical semisolid products. The rheological attributes determine the stability and sensory characteristics of the products. Rheological attributes also dictate the drug release rate from the formulation. Demonstrating similarity in rheological characteristics to the innovator product is crucial for regulatory approval of a complex topical generic product. Various rheological properties of the topical products are of interest, and the underlying microstructure dictates those rheological properties. It is important to note that different rheological methods must be used to determine those parameters, as no single technique can provide all the necessary information regarding a given formulation.
