摘要

The work of every organization is performed by individuals. It is essential that all employees within an organization properly understand and proficiently enact their respective roles and responsibilities. Those with supervisory roles have a responsibility to properly use performance evaluations to ensure that employees are effectively and efficiently enacting their roles and responsibilities in accordance with their organization’s expectations. Successful organizational leaders recognize that evaluating and discussing performance with employees is instrumental in ensuring that employees understand how their current performance measures up to their respective roles and responsibilities, and the corresponding expectations of their organization. Performance evaluations provide a valuable opportunity to recognize and reinforce appropriate performance, as well as identify areas requiring improvement.
