Effective communication is an essential attribute of successful contemporary organizations that is mission critical as an organization interacts with its various stakeholders, including its employees. Ensuring effective communication with employees is essential in determining their success in enacting their respective roles and responsibilities, as well as the overall success of their organization. Understanding and properly utilizing formal and informal communication enables an organization to ensure that employees are properly informed regarding their organization’s expectations, as well as its goals and mission, and provided the necessary information and support to enable them to successfully enact their respective roles and responsibilities. Two-way communication enhances the effectiveness of communication between an organization and its most important resource—its employees. Effective communication supports the successful management and leadership of an organization. Those who supervise others play an instrumental role in ensuring that effective communication exists with an organization’s employees.
