摘要

While there are a number of factors that contribute to the successful recruitment, motivation, empowerment, and retention of employees, none is more influential than the relationship that exists between an employee and their supervisor. Throughout this book you have been reminded of the essential role of the talented people that serve in various positions throughout an organization. Regardless of organizational size, number of employees, or the number of supervisor/subordinate reporting relationships defined in an organization chart, organizational success in reality comes down to employees—under the direction and supervision of their immediate supervisor—performing the work of their organization effectively and efficiently, often while working in groups or teams.
