The Cellular Birth of Consciousness
摘要
The journey to understand consciousness has often focused on the human brain, overlooking its evolutionary roots. Consciousness did not emerge fully formed; rather, it evolved over billions of years through incremental adaptations at the cellular level. By examining the origin of life, the transition to multicellular organisms, and the molecular processes underlying homeostasis and adaptation, we can trace the developmental trajectory of consciousness. This chapter begins with the birth of cellular consciousness, exploring how life adapted to environmental challenges and how these adaptations laid the groundwork for higher-order awareness.
