Environmental Safety of the Workplace of the Paver Operator

Within the framework of this article, the importance of ensuring environmental safety at the operator's workplace is considered. The main factors affecting the environmental condition of the work area, such as emissions of harmful substances, noise, vibration and other aspects, are considered. Special attention is paid to emissions of harmful substances. The calculation of the individual risk RI for each harmful substance contained in the emissions from the laying of the asphalt-ton mixture and the engine of the paver was carried out. The results were obtained on the average reduction of the operator's life span from each harmful substance. The data were analyzed, the results were obtained, by how much the operator's life- time from harmful substances decreases per year when working on an asphalt paver, and graphs of the dependence of individual risk RI on the maximum permissible concentrations (MPCa.d.) of substances were constructed. The most dangerous harmful substances that should be neutralized have been identified. A zone of harmful substances has been built when working on an asphalt paver. The assessment of the influence of harmful factors on humans was based on the Weber-Fechner law, according to which an increase in the strength of sensations is proportional to the magnitude of the influencing factor to its threshold value. The result of the study was that the life span of a human life is reduced by 4 full months, from emissions of harmful substances from the asphalt concrete mixture.
