The Hardware Implementation of the Compartmental Spiking Neuron Model (CSNM) Based on Single Supply Operational Amplifiers

The paper proposes a variant of the hardware implementation of the compartmental spiking neuron model on single supply operational amplifiers. The paper considers the existing approaches to the hardware implementation of neuron models. Schematics of each functional element of the neuron model have been developed. Experiments in the simulation have shown that the proposed implementation reproduces the required time characteristics of the pulse transformation flow processes quite accurately in comparison with the mathematical model. The implementation allows you to flexibly change the structure of the dendritic and synaptic apparatus of the neuron and conveniently interpret signals. The disadvantage of the proposed solution is low energy efficiency, however, for the research purposes of a control and information processing systems based on compartmental spiking neurons, this aspect is not critical at this stage.
