Sources of Information
摘要
There are thousands of products used on farms that can be associated with acute or chronic illnesses. Healthcare providers in rural areas need rapid access to information about health effects and the management of toxicity. Regional poison centers are staffed 24 h per day with specialists in poison information who have databases of products and their toxicity. Medical toxicologists—physicians specializing in the management of toxicant exposures—can provide consultations in person or by phone via poison centers. Product labels provide information about health effects and management of exposures. Safety data sheets are available online and can also provide helpful information.
