The chapter aims to help advance the debate on digital innovation ecosystems as suitable environments supporting the achievement of circular economy (CE) goals. Coherently with the institutional debate on Twin Transition, this chapter offers an overview of the state of the theory and a comprehensive reading of political frameworks supporting the creation of digital innovation ecosystems for the CE transitions of both regions and firms. Empirically, the study provides evidence of a comparative analysis of the initiatives registered by the European Circular Economy Stakeholders Platform as good practices of digital innovation ecosystems promoting circular and sustainable achievements. By confirming the actuality of the issue in academic, institutional and societal contexts, the research offers a starting point for future studies and experiments.
