Virtual Environments: Features of CoSpaces Edu Involvement

The article examines the peculiarities of using virtual educational platforms on the example of the СoSpaces Edu online platform when studying the disciplines “Innovative technologies and digitalization in the industry”. The foreign experience of using and the main directions of involving virtual platforms in the educational process and their combination with traditional means of education are analyzed. An analysis of the main capabilities of the CoSpaces Edu online platform for creating virtual learning environments during the interaction of education seekers was carried out. An overview of the available educational projects and an analysis of directions of user interaction with the virtual environment were carried out. The relevance of involving virtual environments in the educational process based on the use of various computer tools is justified. The possibility of organizing synchronous and asynchronous training on the basis of virtual educational platforms is emphasized. Practical examples of the use of developed projects in the course of laboratory work, organization of independent distance work of education seekers are described. Didactic and technical features of using the CoSpaces Edu online platform were considered and the available functionality for creating various action scenarios was analyzed. A generalized structure of the development of educational projects for teachers on the СoSpaces Edu online platform is provided, and proposals for thematic tasks for education seekers are presented. Special attention is paid to the organization of educational games, project development and control of mastery of educational material by students of education with the involvement of virtual environments. Using the example of the СoSpaces Edu mobile application, joint interaction of study group participants was tested within the framework of limited functionality. The unique capabilities of virtual environments as a means for organizing training sessions and conducting control events with the use of personal computers, smartphones and special equipment for virtual reality are emphasized. Technical, didactic and special recommendations for the development of educational virtual projects, various types of tasks and forms of interaction of the subjects of the educational process, the development of additional 3D objects for scenes and the basics of programming interaction scenarios from objects of the virtual environment are given. The peculiarities of increasing the motivation to study of education seekers and the mastering of complex educational material through the involvement of a virtual environment are analyzed.
