Mental Health: Assessment of Risk, Clinical Manifestations, and Access to Care
摘要
This chapter will discuss the current prevalence of mental health problems in children and adolescents along with risk factors. Screening, assessment, and clinical manifestations of the three most common mental health disorders in children and teens will be highlighted, including anxiety, depression, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Barriers and access to mental health care will be described as well as breakthroughs that have enhanced access to mental health care. The chapter will conclude with lessons learned and three urgent calls to action.
