The onset of Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) in December 2019 initiated a respiratory ailment that brought about profound transformations in the domain of hospital administration. Hospitals responded by necessitating departmental reconfigurations to optimize resource allocation and streamline operational procedures. The aim of the present work is to assess the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic on the activity of the Department of Cardiology in the hospital “A.O.R.N. Antonio Cardarelli” of Naples (Italy). To assess the effect that Covid-19 had on the department, data were collected for the year 2019 (in the absence of Covid-19) and in the year of the pandemic 2020, for a total of 3021 data. In the work the logistical regression technique was used to study to investigate different variables. The patient distribution manifests as follows: 1854 and 1167 subjects in 2019 and 2020, respectively. From this we note that since the spread of Covid-19 virus, the number of patients has decreased because the number of non-emergency admissions has decreased.
