The skill of nurses in performing intravenous injections is low, reaching 50.8%, even though 80% of patients who are hospitalized get vein puncture or venipuncture. With a vein scanning device, it is hoped that it can help medical personnel, especially nurses, in carrying out venipuncture procedures. Medical personnel with vein scanning can more easily find the patient's vein location in real time. With the help of vein scans, healthcare workers and nurses can easily insert cannulas or administer parenteral medications. Vein scanners available today have several designs such as cylindrical or horseshoe-shaped, besides that there are various ways of using them such as they can be used remotely or closely, and utilize several concepts such as visible light, infrared and UV light. The concept that the author created is in the form of a horseshoe tip, attached to the skin with the addition of a strap and using a visible light transillumination effect. From product manufacturing experiments, it was found that the Ve1n Finder device still did not meet its initial goal, namely to be able to scan veins on the arms of people with dark skin and obesity.
