Analysis of the Impact of COVID-19 on the Neurosurgical Patient: A Multicenter Study
摘要
Since December 2019, we have witnessed the spread of a virus, called crown disease-virus 2019 (Covid-19), which has led to problems in every ward of hospitals, which had to reorganize services and resource management. The proposed analysis aims to evaluate how Covid-19 pandemic affects the services and processes of the Neurosurgery Department of University Hospital “Federico II” of Naples (Italy). In particular, we collected information about 826 subjects both in the absence (year 2019) and presence (year 2020) of Covid-19. The analysis conducted in the study was first of all a statistical analysis of the variables under consideration and then the logistic regression model to analyze which variables are statistically significant in the comparison between the two years of observation. The first effect of the pandemic on the department we see in the number of accesses, in fact there is a decrease of a hundred patients entering the department. The analysis of the logistic regression reported the following statistically significant variables: relative weight of Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) and procedure of admission to hospitalization (planned with pre-hospitalization).
