If you are reading this book, you might be in your earlier career development and you might be interested in what it is like pursuing a career in industry. Or you might be curious about how to be better prepared for an industrial job; you might want to know how I landed on my current position—and it is perfectly OK if you don’t know which career route to take yet. I will try to answer some of these questions based on my personal experience. I was in your shoes not too long ago. I want to assure you that anything is possible. In this chapter, I will share with you my journey to this role and outline a variety of marketing positions in life science companies requiring an advanced scientific degree, like a Master of Science (MS) or Ph.D. degree with bench research experience. My journey to my current role is not what I had planned for myself. While I am reflecting on my scientific journey over the past 25 years, you will notice that many of my career positions were not by design. Each time I grabbed the opportunity presented to me—I tried my best, kept my curiosity, and never stopped learning. That approach subsequently prepared me for the next career opportunity and challenges.
