3D Printing Filament Extruder Machine: Heat Transfer Analysis

The development of plastic waste processing is a trend today. This article will discuss the heat transfer process in a 3d printing filament extruder machine. A filament printing 3d extruder machine is fabricated to print 3d filaments from plastic waste materials. The extruder machine consists of a band heater, extruder, barrel, and nozzle. This research studies the heat transfer process in the material in the barrel. Variations in temperature parameters are given, namely 110°, 130°, and 150°. The results will be compared with the simulation and the calorific value. The greatest heat transfer is 4% with thermocouple set, which is 4,65 kJ. These results can be a reference in the design process of extruder machine heaters for polyethylene filaments.
