The Study of Cooling Systems for Superconducting Coils

The storage of electrical energy represents a technological and economic issue that is still in the news. Superconducting coils offer a relevant and promising solution to electrical energy storage [1, 2]. High-performance cryogenic systems are necessary to ensure better operation of SMES [3]. The main objective of this study is to analyze the operation of a superconducting coil cooling system. For this we opted for simulation using the COMSOL calculation code. COMSOL Multiphysics is numerical simulation software based on the finite element method. This software makes it possible to simulate physical phenomena and numerous applications in engineering, and particularly coupled phenomena or multi-physics simulation.
