This chapter presents an in-depth analysis of best practices in project human resource management (PM HRM) through examples derived from a case study of a multinational software engineering organization. This chapter explores the foundational literature supporting contemporary PM HRM, highlighting significant insights and identifying limitations within the ISO and PMI bodies of knowledge. A comparative review of organizational human resource management (OHRM) literature and PM HRM literature is provided to underscore the differences and intersections between these fields. A detailed examination of the software staffing database, a critical artifact in PM HRM, is presented using a case study example to demonstrate its practical application. Furthermore, essential PM HRM functions, including recruitment, selection, leadership, team development, and performance evaluation, are thoroughly discussed. The research question (RQ) is addressed by illustrating effective PM HRM best practices, with empirical evidence drawn from the multinational software engineering corporation case study.

摘要
