What Sort of Morality Should We Abolish?

  • Stephen G. Morris

摘要

In this chapter I discuss the specific notion of moral realism that I will argue we ought to abandon. Given that this book’s primary aim is to argue that the world is worse off insofar as people allow their moral attitudes and judgments to dictate their behavior, it makes sense to adopt an understanding of morality that reflects the general concept of morality that the folk have. This chapter sets out to elucidate this concept by discussing the key common elements that link the widely divergent moral views that we find throughout the world.
