Looking into the present worldwide concern for environmental preservation, business organizations must adopt measures to reduce their carbon footprints. This book chapter attempts to synthesize the currently available literature related to the zero-carbon industry and states the various indicators for performance measurement systems that are tailored specifically for the zero carbon industry. This chapter begins by examining the existing terrain of zero-carbon initiatives and the need for assessment. The chapter highlights the initiatives and the best practices organizations should adopt to contribute to the zero-carbon industry. Stemming from this groundwork, this chapter suggests an innovative approach to ensuring a balanced perspective in performance assessment in the context of the zero-carbon industry. It also deliberates the role Human Resource Management department can play for setting performance indicators for zero carbon industry. Moreover, the research work highlights the fact that keeping sustainability goals in mind is crucial for the organisations to reduce ecological damage alongside maintaining high economic output. It provides a structured and systematic means of measuring, managing, and enhancing environmental performance. The research work intends to contribute towards the aim of carbon neutrality by stating certain managerial implication contributing to sustainable industrial development in general, and supporting the global shift toward a low-carbon future thus optimizing the net zero industry.
