The concept of Net Zero has become increasingly significant for attaining sustainable development goals and it has given origin to an innovative approach for managing employees known as sustainable human resource management (SHRM). Although there has been a rise in research on SHRM and its implementation, this emerging research approach currently lacks cohesive principles and methodologies. Additional research is necessary for ascertaining the significance of inducing sustainable approach in HRM. The chapters aims to showcase the advancement of human potential within an organization and examines incorporation of sustainable aspects into different HRM practices in order to enhance comprehension of this innovative approach. We explore the rationale and need behind firms’ adoption of SHRM practices and analyze the outcomes they have attained. Hence, our study enhances the theory base on SHRM by showcasing the results of the applied HRM practices, along with emphasizing the significance of contextual factors. The findings highlights that SHRM can yield long-term advantages for employers, society, and employees. The favorable consequences of SHRM encompass employee well-being concerns, such as prolonged careers, reduced absence rate, minimal turnover, and delayed retirements. Furthermore, there is a noticeable absence of employee engagement in the decision-making process about environment policies of the organization, which is another fundamental aspect of SHRM. The chapter has specific suggestions for HR managers. The chapter also provides suggestions about the under investigated scope that need more investigation.
