In an effort to build on the approach of Ebach and Michaux (Biotectonics, Springer Briefs, Switzerland, https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-030-51773-1 , 2020) to systematise transition zones, our analysis of Neotropical examples has led us to suggest a number of refinements.
