This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the history of exploration of all caves discovered within the boundaries of the Küre Mountains National Park. Following this, a detailed account is given of the 45 most significant caves within the National Park. In some cases, the available information is insufficient or lacking in photographic or cartographic representation. This issue arises from the insufficient documentation of some older research. Conversely, it is reasonable to assume that there are numerous additional caves within the boundaries of the Küre Mountains National Park, which encompasses an area of 1170 km2, including the designated buffer zone. It may be anticipated that, as a result of further discoveries, the total number of caves in the region will increase in the future.
