Exploring the Intriguing Characteristics of Eriococcid-Induced Galls
摘要
The development of specific gall morphotypes in Eriococcidae-induced galls is influenced by the sex of the inducer and the duration of its life cycle, resulting in significant differences in structure, which may also be related to the induction in different host plant organs. Here, we explore the diversity of morphotypes associated with Eriococcidae-induced galls, revisiting three systems in Brazil to unravel their biological characteristics, anatomical features, and chemical profiles. These intricate relationships shed light on the complex interplay of morphology, structure, and functions within these intriguing systems.
