To conclude this volume, we wish to both share how our thinking evolved, and which are the insights built for “language and work” as a dedicated field. When starting the edition project of this volume, we had the intuition of something being negotiated reciprocally between language and work. However, as the field is “under construction,” we were rather exploring through the contributions of all the chapters authors and our own thinking, than delimitating in advance the current state of the art of this encounter, which started in 2012. This was until now the most difficult volume to structure, in the sense that all contributions dealt with the reciprocal influence between work and language. It was difficult to identify a guideline principle, for instance with chapters more from the side of language influencing work, or work influencing language. All are more complex. First, we will offer a summary of findings from the perspective of the outline of this volume. Then, we present what these chapters, and hence the book, bring to the field through a meta-analysis.
