Case 28: Focal Atrial Tachycardia with Tachycardia-Induced Cardiomyopathy

A 14-year-old female patient was admitted to the hospital due to recurrent episodes of atrial tachycardia. The symptoms appeared suddenly and disappeared quickly, showing a warm-up, cool-down pattern on ECG, and showed minimal response to pharmacological intervention. Although Flecainide was associated with Propranolol, she persisted in experiencing episodes of tachycardia. The left ventricle had a mild dilation with a Z score of 2.7 in echocardiography, along with an ejection fraction of 43% and normal B-type natriuretic peptide levels. She was scheduled for catheter ablation due to tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy (Figs. 34.1, 34.2, 34.3, 34.4, 34.5, 34.6, 34.7, 34.8, 34.9, 34.10, 34.11, 34.12, 34.13, 34.14, and 34.15).
