Case 26: Ventricular Premature Contractions in a Neonate

A 5-h male newborn was detected with an arrhythmia. The ECG displayed premature ventricular contractions. A Holter ECG was requested to evaluate the PVC burden. The neonate’s mother had a vitamin D insufficiency with a 16 ng/mL level of 25-Ohvitamin D. The cardiologist requested a vitamin D assessment for the newborn and discovered a low level of 12 ng/mL (Figs. 32.1, 32.2, 32.3, 32.4, 32.5, 32.6, 32.7, 32.8, 32.9, 32.10, 32.11, 32.12, 32.13, and 32.14).
