Case 25: Premature Ventricular Contractions and Fusion Beats in a Neonate

  • Mihaela Rednic

摘要

A male newborn, delivered via cesarean section, with an APGAR score of 9 and a birth weight of 3200 g, had abnormal heart sounds and a systolic murmur during examination. The cardiac ultrasonography revealed the presence of a patent foramen ovale and a patent ductus arteriosus, while the ECG confirmed the presence of premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) with a single morphology. Based on these findings, it was determined that Holter ECG monitoring would be beneficial. The monitoring identified two distinct morphologies of premature ventricular contractions (Figs. 31.1, 31.2, 31.3, 31.4, 31.5, 31.6, 31.7, 31.8, 31.9, 31.10, 31.11, 31.12, and 31.13).
