Utilization of Echocardiographic Labs
摘要
Echocardiography is an important part of patient care in the critical care setting. The echocardiographic laboratory is a source of learning for critical care trainees. It is important to understand the different components of the echocardiographic laboratory, including the different teachers and their roles. Sonographers, general cardiology fellows, advanced imaging fellows, and echocardiographers play a major role in teaching some of the image acquisition and interpretation skills in critical care echocardiography, but it is important to understand the different limitations of the echocardiographic laboratory as a teaching site. Furthermore, understanding the operations of the echocardiographic laboratory facilitates optimal collaboration to advance clinical care.
