Ultrasonography can be used as an adjunct to confirm endotracheal intubation. Ultrasound for intubation can be applied for static or dynamic confirmation of successful tracheal intubation or to identify inadvertent esophageal intubation. Emerging evidence is also proposing the use of ultrasound to predict difficult intubation and to assess the depth of endotracheal tube (ETT) placement.

摘要

Ultrasonography can be used as an adjunct to confirm endotracheal intubation. Ultrasound for intubation can be applied for static or dynamic confirmation of successful tracheal intubation or to identify inadvertent esophageal intubation. Emerging evidence is also proposing the use of ultrasound to predict difficult intubation and to assess the depth of endotracheal tube (ETT) placement.
