In recent years, the industrialisation of food production has revolutionised the way we produce, package, and distribute our food. Although this advancement has undoubtedly increased efficiency and affordability, it has also inadvertently created an environment conducive to the emergence and spread of zoonotic pathogens - diseases that can be transmitted between animals and humans – and significantly contributed to the present antimicrobial resistance crisis.
