Hernias in Children
摘要
Inguinal pathologies are responsible for a high percentage of pediatric surgery outpatient visits, also being one of the most common causes of elective surgeries in the pediatric age range. The vast majority of inguinal hernias in children are indirect and occur due to the failure of the processus vaginalis to obliterate. Only 0.2% to 2% of the hernias are direct, being related to the posterior wall weakness, known as Hesselbach’s triangle, or a collagen synthesis defect.
