The phenomenon of climate risk contagion has significant implications in terms of systemic risk for the entire financial system. In order to analyze the operational implications for financial intermediaries, we examine how banks and insurance companies can integrate climate change risks into their governance. A concrete case is then analyzed, namely the strategy and organization of the Generali Group in terms of climate change. Finally, interesting considerations on the systemic impact that can guide the decisions of governments and institutions are formulated.

摘要

The phenomenon of climate risk contagion has significant implications in terms of systemic risk for the entire financial system. In order to analyze the operational implications for financial intermediaries, we examine how banks and insurance companies can integrate climate change risks into their governance. A concrete case is then analyzed, namely the strategy and organization of the Generali Group in terms of climate change. Finally, interesting considerations on the systemic impact that can guide the decisions of governments and institutions are formulated.
