Introduction

In “Chapter 1: Introduction,” I introduce the overall themes and project of the book. At the outset, I define both limit-to-ultimacy and processive naturalism. Second, I explain my interpretive assumptions and central thesis of the book. I have approached various themes in a way that reveals the overlooked context of radical empiricism. The central argument of this work is that radical empiricism brings together these seemingly unrelated religious themes in a largely systematic manner. By connecting these elements, I am reconstructing James’s ideas into a coherent and systematic relational ontology.
