Digital Orthodontic Model Creation
摘要
Whilst plaster orthodontic study models have formed part of the diagnostic records for a very long time, they have undoubtedly been superseded by digital study models. The latter in 3D format offers much more versatility and increases their scope of use. With pros and cons for both and user-preference dependent, the digital format allows more manipulation and incorporation into other functions offered by the software platforms onto which they are uploaded. This chapter aims to describe the methods of acquisition, advantages and disadvantages, and the scope of using of digital orthodontic study models over conventional plaster models.
