Washing and Post-Processing Procedures
摘要
The 3D printing technology has undoubtedly shaped the current and future trajectory for the orthodontic speciality. The prospect of successfully implementing 3D printing and ensuring its safe use, biocompatibility, physical stability, and compliance with the regulatory legislations requires two crucial steps towards the end of the manufacturing process called “post-processing”; washing and post-curing processes. These two steps are vital to remove excess resin and to cure all the unreacted monomers that would not have been completely polymerised during the 3D printing phase. This chapter aims to provide details about the washing and post-curing phases of 3D printing in orthodontics.
