The Artificial Intelligence (AI) revolution in software development is just around the corner. With the rise of AI, developers are expected to play a different role from the traditional role of programmers, as they will need to adapt their know-how and skillsets to apply AI-based tools and techniques into development. In this paper, some of the current trends in using artificial intelligence to improve SAP ABAP development are discussed, as well as some of the main opportunities and challenges facing researchers.
