The Seventeenth Century
摘要
The first cycad to be described in the Western botanical literature as a binomial was the Indian species, Cycas circinalis, and that very brief description was published by Linnaeus in 1753 in the section Palmae of his Species plantarum. But the basis for this description goes back almost a century earlier to the work of two Dutch naturalists, Hendrik Adriaan van Rheede tot Draakestein and George Rumphius.
