Agriculture is one of the most important sectors in the world as it provides the food for all the humans across the globe which is nearing $5trillion as an industry. The worldwide population is expected to be increased by nine billion in 2050 which will also need an increase in the agricultural production by 70% to fulfill the human food needs. When the population increases, the land and water resources will become insufficient to meet up the demand-supply chain. Farmers need smarter approach and they need to replace the traditional methods by using modern technology advancements. In this place, Artificial Intelligence is making a revolution by replacing the old traditional methods with the new efficient methods such as weather forecasting using AI, soil and crop health monitoring system, analyzing crop health by drones, system-based pests’ detection, precision farming and predictive analytics, Agricultural robotics, etc.AI can enhance the crop management, reduce the resource wastage and it can contribute to sustainable food production in the globally populating world. In summary, this paper provides an overall vision of Artificial Intelligence (AI)and its impact on agriculture and also how it can be effectively applied in agriculture to obtain the maximum yield with optimal use of available resources.
