Study on Impact of FII on Indian Stock Market
摘要
This paper investigates the substantial surge in foreign investments through Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) in the Indian stock market over the past years, utilizing data from diverse sources including BSE, NSE, and SEBI reports. The study encompasses a twelve-year period from 2011 to 2023, focusing on the NSE index average. Employing E-Views as the statistical tool, the research employs a comprehensive analytical framework comprising Descriptive Statistics, Unit Root Test, Granger Causality Test, and Johansen Cointegration. The primary variable under scrutiny is FII’s net investment in equity and debt, juxtaposed with the NIFTY 50 index average over the same period. The findings reveal that fluctuations in the Indian Stock Market can be effectively elucidated by the activities of FIIs. This paper aims to discern the impact of FIIs on the Indian stock market, unravel trends, identify influencing factors, and illuminate the implications associated with their investments. Through an in-depth exploration of historical data, market dynamics, and pertinent studies, the research not only underscores the key determinants shaping FII investments but also elucidates the correlation between FII flows and stock market performance, thereby providing valuable insights into the broader implications for the Indian economy.
