The global automotive industry is witnessing a significant shift towards electric and hybrid vehicles, driven by environmental concerns and recent increases in oil prices. This study explores the collective viewpoints and outlooks of the public regarding electricity and hybrid technology vehicles against the backdrop of increasing oil prices. Policymakers, manufacturers, and researchers can gain valuable real-time insights into public sentiment and opinions regarding sustainable transportation alternatives by analyzing social media discussions. A mixed-methods approach was employed to investigate people’s attitudes toward electric and hybrid cars, incorporating quantitative and qualitative data. We collected and analyzed the data from Twitter using natural language processing techniques. The Twitter dataset consisted of public posts and conversations about electric and hybrid vehicles, focusing on discussions surrounding oil prices, sustainability, and driving experiences. Preliminary findings indicate that Twitter users actively discuss electric and hybrid cars in response to rising oil prices. The analysis revealed a range of viewpoints and opinions. Some users express enthusiasm and optimism, highlighting the potential benefits of electric and hybrid vehicles, such as reduced dependence on fossil fuels and lower fuel costs. Others express skepticism and concerns, raising charging infrastructure, battery technology, and affordability issues.
