More than 50 million people worldwide are affected by the severe brain disorder known as epilepsy. It is a long-term disorder that causes unprovoked seizures repeatedly. It leaves many epileptics resistant to medicines and are not good candidates for surgery. To prevent seizures using medication, seizure prediction before onset is beneficial. It can be a challenging task to predict epileptic seizures. Without compromising on performance, deep learning, and machine learning classifiers can identify EEG data, predict seizures, and reveal sensible patterns. This paper aims to present an overview of different deep learning and machine learning techniques that have been explored over the past few years for epileptic seizure prediction.
