The objective of this article is to examine three management trends as applied to the Project Management Office (PMO) in the post-pandemic period: hybrid work, agile methodologies, and Industry 4.0 technologies. To achieve this aim, three hypotheses were formulated to underpin a qualitative analysis of scholarly texts extracted from Scopus and Web of Science, employing an integrative literature review approach. The study’s findings confirm the increasing adoption of the hybrid work model, while highlighting challenges in its implementation, particularly in terms of communication and coordination, which impact project deliveries. The study also identifies the utilization of agile methodologies, either in isolation or in conjunction with traditional management approaches, owing to their widespread acceptance and the benefits they confer. However, the study does not reveal the incorporation of Industry 4.0 tools to support Project Office activities. Given the outcomes of this investigation, in addition to other emerging trends that warrant further exploration, it is recommended that additional research be conducted in the areas of sustainability practices, knowledge management, communication strategies between strategic and operational levels, and the applicability of these trends in public institutions and healthcare organizations.
