CoPMeR: A Search Tool for Research Question Formulation in Literature Review
摘要
Navigating the ever-growing sea of scholarly literature in the area of management research raises a significant challenge for researchers attempting to identify and access pertinent resources. This research work introduces “CoPMeR” (Context, Problem, Methodology, Result), an innovative approach devoted to streamline and improve the bibliographic research process in the field of management. It tackles the common challenges that researchers face when sifting through a vast sea of literature and provides a structured framework that guides them through four key components. By answering specific questions within each category using Boolean operators, researchers can build up accurate search queries adapted to their research needs, eventually saving time and promoting the relevance of the identified sources. The paper summarizes the development and validation of the CoPMeR search tool, demonstrating its goodness of fit through a case study and a practical example. CoPMeR tends to become an invaluable tool for researchers, students, and professionals in the management area, simplifying the process of crafting research questions and performing comprehensive literature reviews. Through granting a structured and user-friendly approach to bibliographic research, CoPMeR empowers researchers to explore and leverage the most relevant literature, finally evolving the state of knowledge in the field of management.
