The variable speed engine has been utilized as a prime mover in the aircraft for performing the field control of a synchronous generator. The aim of this work is to improve the performance and efficiency of power systems, which have been employed in Variable Speed Constant Frequency (VSCF) aircraft. The proposed research work has employed an Active Power Filter (APF) control method, for compensating harmonics present in the system and to regulate the power system employed in aircraft. The proposed technique was implemented and validated by employing MATLAB/Simulink. The result obtained represent that, the percentage THD of source voltage, and the source current are 1.26% and 2.98% respectively and the waveforms are sinusoidal, which has effectively reduced the THD and other related issues in a few seconds.

摘要
