Decentralized and Secure Verification Process Using Interplanetary File System (IPFS) and Web3 Storage: A Comprehensive Study
摘要
The most popular way to conduct a verification process is to match the information on an individual’s identification documents with the information they provide during the identification procedure. From country to country, different documents are required. This mode is being used widely, but in person, one has to face a lot of issues during the procedure, and the process is obsolete. There are traditional HTTP solutions for these procedures, but they are less secure, have less data management, consume a lot of storage, and other drawbacks due to their centralization. To address these problems, we have proposed a secure method that decentralizes, strengthens the security of data, and gives more control to users over their data while digitizing the whole process. This has been made possible with the use of Interplanetary File System (IPFS), Web3 storage, compression libraries, and symmetric key encryption algorithms, as demonstrated in this paper in detail.
