The Research-Tandem Model as Student-Led Training to International Research
摘要
The chapter introduces the research-tandem model as innovative practice of international students’ mobility with a particular focus on collaborative research. Based on the principles of cultural psychology of inclusion, the model aims to promote student-led research and cultivate a collaborative, intercultural, inclusive, and interdisciplinary idea of science since the early stages of higher education. First, the importance of mobility and global science is stressed against the resurgence of a nationalistic perspective. Then, the research-tandem model is presented as alternative to the neoliberal competitive model. Finally, the rationale of the volume and the content of each chapter are described, stressing the social relevance of the focus on inclusive science and the potentialities of young students to produce quality research.
