For the foreseeable growth of plastic consumption, the plastics industry needs feedstock sources replacing fossil raw materials, thus satisfying a sustainable existence and growth of the industry. Biomass provides carbon-based products that can be converted for the use in the plastics industry. The carbon needed for the production of modern plastics can derived from other sources than on fossil basis.
