A Novel Hybrid Mechanism for Protecting Privacy in mm-Wave Communication Networks

This chapter proposes a pioneering mechanism for safeguarding privacy in millimeter-wave (mm-Wave) communication networks. mm-Wave technology offers unprecedented bandwidth and data transmission speeds, revolutionizing wireless communication. However, with its advantages come challenges, particularly concerning privacy and security. Traditional encryption methods may not suffice in this context due to the unique characteristics of mm-Wave signals. Thus, this chapter introduces a novel approach tailored specifically for mm-Wave networks, addressing the privacy concerns while maximizing the benefits of this cutting-edge technology. The proposed privacy preservation technique contains hybrid amalgamation of statistical anonymization with dynamic encryption keys for introducing randomized transmission patterns to obfuscate data transmission. Varying transmission power levels, beamforming directions, or time-frequency allocations based on statistical distributions can add an additional layer of privacy protection. By randomizing transmission patterns, the likelihood of unauthorized eavesdropping or inference attacks is reduced.
